As many of you know from my recent FB posts, I have recently gone through the first round of surgery for a Giant Retinal Tear (GRT). The retina in my right eye tore circularly almost half way around, and detached.
My surgeon, saved my sight, and seid it was the second worst GRT he has ever seen. I count myself lucky that it was repairable. Right now, there is silicone oil in there to push the retina back into place. Some laser stitching was done to reattach it, and more will be done in a few weeks when the oil is replaced with saline. I should have clear vision after that.
I am not allowed to bend, lift, or strain in any way for weeks. That is the hardest part. I won't be riding until this eye is fixed, because my depth perception is off. I am driving, but very carefully.
I have had many praying for me, and I would appreciate more and continued prayer, if you feel led to do so. I look forward to literally seeing everyone at the gap meet in July.
