I just picked up a stainless bolt and nyloc nut from a local fastener supplier for a buck or two.

I wouldn't bother trying to come up with a factory replacement for that one. Just find one that will work @ the hardware store & use a nylock nut on the end.

Sweet, sweet bike man. :pimp

I especially love the can and how you hung it -- it's perfect. Too many aftermarket mufflers are *huge*, they need to be cut down to a better proportion. Now I know how I want my first aftermarket can cut, thanks. :ok

thanks! I like the illusion that the wheel base is longer then it actually is now that the wheel pokes farther then the exhaust. If you do get a shorty pipe be prepared for the attention (good and bad) that comes along with it.

Nice bike man. How does it run? I fightered mine and now it runs like crap.

Did you seal the tube to the airbox or just drill a hole and slide it in? Mine has a stubby can just like yours but it spits and sputters all through the rpm range. And I just clean the carb.

I made a really right hole and slipped the hose in. Mine makes some backfire sounds upon hard deceleration but nothing to bad. I do notice some flat spots though at full throttle but normal driving it rides fine with new hesitation. I bought a jet kit from sigma 9 and hopefully that will alleviate some those issues and possibly gain some hp.

Anyone try this kit out by the way? Its going to be my first time installing something like this on a motorcycle so I'm kind of nervous but it doesn't look to bad after glancing at the step-by-step pictures.

I don't have any problems after fightering mine either except a few flat spots as well, and I run a really short can too. I'm interested to see if the jet kit will help that out!

Hey,

It look's great! And i'm not a street fighter motorbikes fan! But this one looks fantastic!

One thing, what tail light is that one, is that a CBR one? And did you have to get a Tail tidy for it or just adapted? It looks great! I want it! :)

Congrats for the fantastic bike, you made quite a great job on it!

Best regards

Thanks! Yeah its a cbr taillight. I think there's a tutorial in the how to section on installing. I don't know what a tail tidy but for the rear I just went to town with a dremel and cut everything I didn't want.

Fixed my errors and got the bike running. I still haven't sync'd the carbs yet and all I can say is the power/response difference is night and day. Best mod for the 600r so far.

The bike doesn't even need the choke on cold night starts. The sound of the engine is much more linear and not so lumpy sounding anymore. No more obnoxious popping at deceleration. No more flat spots in the power band. :rockon

That bike is soooo sweet.
ImageSitting is not a sport.Unfortunately, most people who buy sportbikes do just that. They hit the starter button gently release the clutch and sit their asses off.Theres nothing wrong with these people they just bought the wrong bike.A sportbike is not designed to be sat on,it's designed to be hung off, moved around on constantly manipulated beneath the rider.A self propelled platform upon which a sport takes place.
