anyone using the stock gauge bracket for headlight and gauge

Thinking. Of cutting down the stock front gauge bracket to keep the stock gauge cluster and mount a pair of 5 3/4" lights to. Anyone done this? Would trim off the unnecessary bits...

I'm taking a wild guess and saying....nope.

Idk about everyine else but I'm using universal fork brackets found in eBay for my headlight. As for the gauges, I plan to fabricate a bracket depending on the tachs I decide to go with.

Doubt that helps much, but thought I'd at least post something.

THanks all, looks like the path we will likely take as well. Anyone have a good source for a DOT headlight that isn't $100?
